Not that boredom is a bad thing, but there’s certainly no reason for it this winter. After a year of events and activities being cancelled, family entertainment is back – and seemingly bigger than usual for the chilly season. We’re here for it. Here’s a few of my recommendations right now:
HAMILTON
Brickman Awesome
If you missed the Brickman Awesome exhibition in Auckland last year, you can catch it in Hamilton now! Ever wondered if an orca could make it as far up the Waikato as Hamilton? Answer: Yes! This most amazing phenomenon is about to happen as a 3m tall orca lands on the city as part of the spectacular Brickman Awesome exhibition these July school holidays.
AUCKLAND
Sea Monsters Exhibition
Sea Creatures opens at Auckland Museum today! More than 70 displays to learn about prehistoric ocean predators. Packed with fossils and fossil casts, including a 13-metre long Elasmosaurus and 9-metre long Prognathodon. Learn to swim like a sea monster and make your own monster with more than a dozen interactives.
AUCKLAND, WELLINGTON & CHRISTCHURCH
Madagascar The Musical
This smash hit musical features all of your favourite crack-a-lackin’ friends as they escape from their home in New York’s Central Park Zoo and find themselves on an unexpected journey to the madcap world of King Julien’s Madagascar. This brand new musical from DreamWorks, featuring a star studded Kiwi cast will leave audiences with no choice but to ‘move it, move it’.
CHRISTCHURCH
KidsFest
Looking for some family fun these winter school holidays? Jump into KidsFest 2021. There’s hundreds of exciting and interactive activities to choose from. Robots, books, costumes, paint, puzzles, markets and more. Don’t miss out, find your next adventure now!
