Mug cake

This quick and comforting mug cake is perfect when you’re craving something sweet in a hurry. With just 10 minutes of prep and 8 minutes of cooking, you’ll have a warm, gooey dessert ready to enjoy. Serves 1.

Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 2 tablespoons plain (all-purpose) flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon apple purée
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract or vanilla sugar (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons Greek yoghurt
  • 1–2 squares dark chocolate

Method

  1. In an air fryer-safe mug whisk the egg with the milk, then mix in the flour, baking powder, apple purée, vanilla or vanilla sugar, and yoghurt.
  2. Place the mug in the air fryer and bake for 8 minutes at 200°C.
  3. Once cooked, add the chocolate squares on top. They will slowly melt.
