Mount Eden has been abuzz with kids lining up for a killa feast, and Cereal Killa café knows how to deliver the best shakes! Their Killa shakes are jumbo-sized sugar bombshells of chocolate, caramel, strawberry and minty heaven. Seriously impressive.
There’s really no holding back on these very ‘grammable’ creations, in fact there’s even a shelf and wall set up specifically for taking a great photo. A simple shake is given a serious shush-up with chocolate, sprinkles, lashings of ice-cream, sauces, cream and shards of toffee, marshmallow and waffles. It’s a masterpiece. That. Your. Kids. Will. Eat!
But parents, if you’re worrying about blowing your health kick, don’t be, as the menu has an alter ego with a selection of healthy options to satisfy even the most disciplined amongst us. We were very excited to see the smashed avo and micro greens on sour dough and we happily ploughed our way through the Nutrition Bomb with everything green and delicious served with poached eggs. It was a revelation to have a one-stop shop for our healthy little critters and our sugar fiends. Harmony in the camp.
Truthfully though, your kids will be there for the Killa shakes, so be prepared. They’ll tackle this challenge in one of three ways: the kids with eyes bigger than their bellies, the kids who chomp through every layer, and those older kids who just go for the ‘gram. This is a place you have to dedicate time and tummy space to. Queues can be lengthy (if you go in the hols), and these edible creations take time to construct. But don’t fret, all good shakes come to those who wait.
The shakes do come in baby sizes (for kids 8-years and under), although we found that Killa shakes are definitely a team effort.
