WEST WAVE
Where: 20 Alderman Drive, Henderson
One of West Auckland’s family favourites, West Wave is ideal for all ages and abilities. With one of the longest hydro slides in New Zealand and a lazy river to catch your breath at the end, we recommend you give this aquatic centre a visit if your families eager for some action.
PARAKAI
Where: 150 Parkhurst Road, Parakai
With two thrilling waterslides and large indoor and outdoor pools, Parakai will ensure the whole family is occupied for hours and hours (that includes the grandparents). There is also plenty of car parking, and picnic areas are available to ensure you have a relaxing and affordable day out.
ALBANY STADIUM POOL
Where: Don McKinnon Drive, Albany
Newly opened in 2017, Albany Stadium is an exciting swimming complex designed for family fun. Other than the over-the-pool climbing wall and water cannons, this pool also has a small waterslide toddlers will love.
MOUNT ALBERT POOL
Where: 38 Alberton Ave, Mt Albert
Caribbean Pirates, waves, and an awesome hydro slide are just some of the fun you will have at the Mt Albert Aquatic Centre. A dedicated toddler area is also on site to keep your little water babies happy.
MOANA-NUI-A-KIWA POOL AND LEISURE CENTRE
Where: 14 Waddon Place, Mangere
If your family is eager for another swim, this South Auckland gem is the ultimate splash pad for children. With five pools including a bombing pool and two exhilarating hydro slides on site, it’ll be hard not to have fun.
MASSEY PARK POOL
Where: 2 Ron Keat Drive, Papakura
Whether you want to chill out in the lazy river, jump over the oncoming waves in the leisure pool, or feel the thrill the hydro slide offers, Massey Park Pool has everything necessary to keep your children entertained for hours.
LAGOON POOL AND LEISURE CENTRE
Where: 29 Lagoon Drive, Panmure
With an outdoor splash pad, dive well, and rapid hydro slide, this is another awesome family-friendly pool we recommend you visit. Keep in mind these activities are only open in the summer months, but heated indoor pools are on site for the winter season.
Otahuhu Pool and Leisure centre
Where: 30 Mason Ave, Otahuhu
There’s a new splash pad and bombing area for kids at the pool to add to the family spa, small water slide and separate bombing pool. The Otahuhu Pool and Leisure Centre is free for families, so make a day of it and utilise the basketball courts and new playground next to the field.
VECTOR WERO WHITEWATER PARK
Where: 77 Great South Road, Wiri
Offering an artificial river and water course for families, this water attraction is ideal for those wanting to feel a rush of adventure. The River Rush and Pump Waterfall are just some of the fun activities you can try on the rafts and kayaks while at Vector Wero. Hold on to the boat as you go down the slide!
